Different ways to work

At Next Generation, we appreciate that not everyone is in the same position when it comes to working in a healthcare role. You might be looking for variable hours that you can scale up and down to fit around other commitments in your life. Or maybe you need the certainty of guaranteed hours each week.

Our Flexible Partners positions are zero-hour contracted roles that let you choose the shifts you want to work from week to week –offering the full flexibility some staff need. And our Plus and Outreach roles are employed positions that give you contracted hours – ideal if you need the stability of set working hours.

Healthcare workers

We supply high-quality Healthcare Assistants (HCAs), Nurses and Nursery Nurses for a variety of healthcare providers in Plymouth and beyond. Support workers

Being a support worker with Next Generation is a fulfilling and varied role. Working at different locations in and around Plymouth, you help people with everyday tasks such as preparing meals, shopping and getting around at home. It’s a vital job that enables service users with specific needs to live as independently as possible.

We have support worker positions on as part of our Flexible Partners service – and also through our Plus and Outreach services, for workers with the right skills and experience looking for more regular employment. You’ll get free training and DBS certification, plus a mileage allowance for travel. And you’ll get the reward of doing valuable work with an agency that makes sure you’re supported too.

I personally don't like using agency workers in place of our regular staff. I feel that it affects continuity of care and generally has an adverse effect on staff morale. However, Next Generation strive to offer a small, regular amount of staff who are familiar with the house and, more importantly, who our service users are happy and familiar with. I recognise that hiring agency staff is not an ideal situation, but Next Generation make such an effort to make the situation as professionally seamless and friendly, that I would recommend their service to any manager in need.
